Refunds and Returns Procedures

Spendlocally.com Returns & Refunds

When you buy an item, service, or gift certificate from a shopkeeper on SpendLocally.com, you should expect the gracious and friendly customer service only found in your hometown.

Merchandise Returns

If you receive merchandise that is different than what was described, or that is clearly in worse condition than indicated, please contact the shopkeeper directly. You should be able to reach a harmonious agreement with one another. If necessary, you can return your item to the shopkeeper for a refund. Please note that merchandise purchased from SpendLocally.com shopkeepers need to be returned directly to the shopkeeper and not to SpendLocally.com.

To be eligible for a refund, you must return your merchandise to your shopkeeper in the same condition you received it, and the return must be made in-store or postmarked within one week of receipt. Shipping and handling charges for returning the merchandise are borne by the buyer. Find more information below on how your refund will be handled.

Merchandise Refunds

Shopkeepers can create full or partial refunds for buyers, conforming to their individual store policies.

When you purchase an item through SpendLocally.com, SpendLocally charges your credit card and passes on payment –less a commission– to the shopkeeper. For you to secure a refund equivalent to your initial purchase price, your shopkeeper must request a refund via SpendLocally.com.

In any case where a refund is necessary -such as when your seller is out of stock and cannot ship, or when you return an item- it is the responsibility of the seller to request that refund. We provide sellers with instructions about how to create refunds.

Refunds are typically processed within two weeks of the shopkeeper’s request. The funds will be deposited back in your credit card account, and Spendlocally.com will send you confirmation of the refund via e-mail.

Gift Certificate Returns

All gift certificate (downloadable or printable store credit voucher for merchandise or services) returns require prior authorization from SpendLocally.com. Returns must be authorized by SpendLocally.com within 90 days of the invoice date.
Partially redeemed gift certificates may not be returned for any refund. Please allow up to two billing cycles for refunds to appear on your credit card statement. The refund will be issued to the credit card used for the original purchase. Notification will be sent as soon as your return has been processed.
SpendLocally.com gift certificates are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for cash refund. SpendLocally.com will only process returns for gift certificates directly purchased and fulfilled by SpendLocally.com. If you're returning an item purchased directly from one of our shopkeepers, please contact them directly.
